Outdoor Mini Sessions

Looking for a quick family outdoor photo session? A mini session might be just the thing!

I offer two types of photos sessions, one hour and a quick mini session. Families who book a full hour gets to choose the location and their session with the softest light of the day. Mini session families are booking at the same location as the one hour, just 2 hour from sunset. The lighting is still during the "golden hour", which is the softest light of the day, but will have more of a punchy hue in the images. I offer mini sessions year round and as they become available I share on this page by location. 

Mini sessions are for up to five family members, offered on specific dates, at predetermined locations, and scheduled 2-2 1/2 hours before sunset for ideal lighting conditions. For larger groups, or families that wish to include their pets, please contact me for a quote and availability. We aim for a mix of candid and posed images, complete with accessories that complement the season. 

When selecting a time-slot and time of the year consider
- For soft light in your images, think to upgrade to a full hour session and book the last session of the day right at sunset.  Contact me for booking these appointments.
- For a punchy, vibrant feel, think of booking the first appointment time listed as this is when we enter the golden hour.  
- If anyone in your party has a nap or sleep schedule, choose a time that works best for them. As we move through the year our session start time will also change. 

November – February: Due to day light savings hour, the sun sets between 5 - 5:30 pm.  

March – October: The sun sets between 7 pm – 8:30 pm. 

- The ambience of our area also changes throughout the year, for example: 

December – April: Hills are green

May – November: Hills are golden

November – April: Most trees will be more moth-eaten

May – October: Most trees will be full of leaves

- Weather can also be a factor. As an example, January/February: this is when we tend to get the bulk of our rain which means we might need to reschedule our session.

Additional Options

- RUSHED delivery is available at an extra cost depending on your timeline.

- Various a la carte professional photo lab prints, canvases, printed cards, envelopes, and other options available.

Limited Print Release

Despite paying for the photo session and receiving high-resolution JPEG images, Spectrum Photography remains the copyright owner. As the client, you may print unlimited prints on any media, post the photos on social media, and keep/share the files everywhere/forever. If you wish to own the rights 100%, please send a message as I have an upgrade option to do so. 

Limitations

- Clients may not edit or transform the images in any capacity

- Commercial use of the images would require Spectrum Photography's consent.

Cancelation, Rescheduling, and Refunds

If Spectrum Photography fails to perform for any other reason, it shall not be liable for any amount over monies paid by the client. If someone looks to be under the weather, within a week of our session, please notify me soon to avoid loosing deposit. If a cancelation is done within 24 hours of the start time, and if I am able to fill the session, I am happy to refund the deposit, if I am unable to, the deposit will be forfeit. 

Illness

With the pandemic, I would ask, if anyone who plans to attend our session has the following, we reschedule:  

- Active cough or shortness of breath (even if it is allergies)

- Have had a fever in the last 10 days

- Has visited someone in a rest home the last two weeks

- Have any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 7 days of our session

- Returned from travel outside the country in the last 14 days

- Exposed to a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 (without full PPE)
